Mentor Feedback Section

1. Specific guidance and suggestions during the new employee's mentoring period

Since XXX joined the company a month ago, they have been diligent and quick to learn, completing the first month's training plan in under three weeks and generally meeting expectations. During this period, the following issues were observed:

  1. Further strengthening of fundamental C programming skills under Linux is needed. Modifying existing programs is only meant to help you quickly understand development procedures and methods. However, in actual future development, there will rarely be ready-made code to reference. Therefore, it's essential to thoroughly understand basic concepts, program architecture, and workflow. Whenever possible, type out each line of code manually based on your own understanding, rather than simply modifying, replacing, and running existing code.

  2. It's good to ask questions—having questions means you're making progress. However, for some questions, answers can typically be found in books or online. I recommend spending time thinking independently and searching for solutions first. The process of finding answers is itself a valuable learning experience that helps you gain deeper, related knowledge. If, after thorough effort, you're still unable to resolve an issue, feel free to bring it to me. I prefer to guide you toward finding the solution method rather than solving the problem directly for you.

  3. Some video tutorials from Guoqiang Linux Embedded courses are well-explained. I recommend taking time to watch them carefully and complete the associated exercises.
